My husband went to a shelter to find a Siamese kitten. Came home with a 10 year old Otto as he'd been in a cage 8 mos. And returned 3 times. Ended up with stomatitis so $1,000 later we had a toothless, 10+ year old cat. He's now about (guessing) 15 yrs old. Seems pretty healthy.
